I have been reading your new post and you mentioned that the gray paint you used was your all time favorite color for gray. Can you please tell me what you used and mostly the name of the color gray. I want to paint my kitchen cabinets gray and would like to try this color gray. Please help me with the color. I love your work, you do such a nice job.
Thank you
Sincerely
Debbie
Hi Debbie
I have the can in front of me now and the color name actually isn’t visible. This was a can of OOPS paint at Home Depot and they painted over the name. Yikes!
I will go to Home Depot today and try to match it to one of theirs swatches and then get back to you.
Type of psi this Behr Premium Plus which is their stain blocking paint and primer in one paint. It performed very well as homemade chalk paint.
Martha, thank you so much for getting back to me so soon. I really appreciate you going out of your way to do this for me. I really don’t want you to do that perhaps in the future if you find you want to use that paint again then you could let me know. I really appreciate your generosity . I have to tell you that I was greatly surprised that you got back to me so soon. I have asked questions from other sites and never even get a reply at all. I thank you for sharing your work with us and I love that you are willing to go out of your way to help me. I can see that you are a caring person as well as artistic. Best regards Debbie
Hi Debbie: So sorry for the delay in getting the color to you. I went to Home Depot this morning and did my best to match the color. Here’s the closest color I could find: Glidden Wood Smoke: GLN40. I don’t have experience with Glidden paint. I would not recommend using it but rather, use the HD Behr brand. The primer/paint combo type is good because it’s very opaque but a regular can of Behr paint would also suffice. This gray color is warm with a tinge of brown in it. It’s not a cool gray. Hope this helps and have fun painting! -Martha
Martha, thank you very much. I will look for this at HD. I also go to Lowe’s a lot and buy their oops paint as well as I do at HD. I get some really nice colors in the good quality paint very very cheap. I love it and I save so much money on paint. I usually do small projects so the paint goes a long way. My kitchen will be the biggest project that I am going to do. Again thank you so much for going out of your way for me, it really means a lot to me. Best Wishes Debbie
What a great job! You are a talented artist– able to add your special touch and make a “discarded” item something to treasure. I look forward to seeing more of your work 🙂
Martha, these are just wonderful. Good luck with it and continue to enjoy! I do have something I’d like you to paint. it’s already painted but the color doesn’t work for me. it’s a china cabinet so maybe jimmy stallings could do the transporting?
