Colors used to create this tri-toned side table:
– First color: the table top was too beautiful to paint. I waxed it and left it alone.
– Second color: the body of the side table was painted in ASCP paint. I mixed a bit of Provence into about 3/4 cup of CoCo and got this brownish/greenish gray.
– Third color: the trim and one drawer were painted in ASCP Ochre.
– Last step: Waxed with ASCP clear and dark waxes.
Lesson learned: The camera picks up details that I didn’t catch early this morning. I’ll need to go back and apply more dark wax to the white drawer to smooth it out.
So, there ya have it. A tri-toned side table. Oh, by the way, I picked up that super cool strong box from a flea market this past weekend.

Martha, I love what you did with this table – gorgeous! The color you mixed with Provençe and Coco is so pretty (must remember this). This table is being featured at The Cottage Market and I’m so glad I saw it. You are a Must Follow!

Gorgeous…leaving one drawer natural really showcases the beauty of the wood that may been lost on an all wood piece. Great makeover!

Hi Lauren: Thanks! I’ve been checking your blog on Mondays to link up to your parties but I’m a goof… can’t seem to find the party. Do you host a link up party on Mondays? Thanks for the info… I love your work and found you early on when I started my blog in February.

I totally love that you left one drawer unpainted. If you had two, these would make unbelievable nightstands!!! I love it! Great color choices!

I love that you only painted one drawer, the wood is beautiful just as it is. But I am wondering why you decided to paint only one. What ever the reason it turned out beautifully.

Hi Traci: I wanted to push the idea of three colors on a small piece. I guess I could also admit that I’m kinda weird and like to try different treatments! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!

Thanks JaneEllen: The colors just happened as I stared at the raw wood and contemplated what kind of piece this thing needed to become. It seemed to need something elegant and understated. Thanks for the comment!
